“Calling all earth-friendly designers and illustrators, eco-artists, and green DIY enthusiasts! Rockport Publishers wants to see your amazing art made from non-traditional materials.
Harness your creative passion to create dynamic forms that encourage the viewer to perceive discarded items in an entirely new light. Winners will be published in a new showcase series on the Rockport Publisher’s list, which will feature 500 projects-similar to the 1000 series.
There is no entry fee, and because of that, we cannot provide free copies of the book to those whose work is chosen. However, we do offer a 50% discount on copies of the book.
Winners will be featured in Art Without Waste: 500 Upcycled and Earth-Friendly Designs, a 192-page, full-color book slated for publication in the fall of 2014.”
For its ninth installation, ArtBridge invites emerging artists and graphic designers to submit proposals for consideration for large-scale exhibition in culture-rich Brooklyn. This will be a one-artist or collaborative team exhibition–a tremendous opportunity for exposure!– and we ask that your submission not only be an original idea, but one that can be successfully executed in the real world. The installation is scheduled to hang for one year.
Who should submit: The call is open to all emerging* digital artists/designers, 18 years or older.
SubmissionGuidelines: The selected proposal will ultimately be reproduced in extra-large, high-resolution format, printed onto weather and fade-resistant vinyl and installed on scaffolding in Brooklyn. Though at this stage we are only looking for mock ups and renderings, if selected, you must be able to turn your proposed idea into a digital file that is at least one foot tall by up to 37.5 feet long. We will then enlarge that file four times to final exhibition scale.
We are pleased to announce that the NEW EXPOSURE photography competition, sponsored by Vogue Magazine, is currently open for submissions from now until July 10, 2013.

- a one-year mentorship with photographic agency Art + Commerce

Our sense of wonder and fear is most palpable when our visions are fleeting…
In the forthcoming issue of Conveyor, we will be searching for moments when the properties of a spectre, that which dissolves from our sight, and a spectrum, a continuum or perfection of vision, overlap and counterbalance each other. The trespassing of these apparitions between the material and immaterial worlds can be equally thrilling and terrifying, amorphous and yet revealing.
We’re looking for absorbing and unexpected sights—phantom or prismatic images, atmospheric phenomena, news from a secret admirer or an absent friend—things that remind us of sidelong glances, illusory dreams, primal discoveries, and ghosts in the machine. They can appear abruptly or be gently delivered; they can range from electrified vision to muted whisper, from stark revelations to those that bleed together.
Photofeast invites you to contribute to Parson’s annual Feast Week hosted in the photo studios at Parsons The New School for Art and Design. The week will take place from May 20-25 with several different events going on. All NYC photography programs are welcome to submit work in answer to the open call and attend any and all events of the week.
This is a chance to gather as a community of artists and photographers and share our ideas. Past shows have been a major success with students participating from Pratt, NYU Tisch, ICP, Cooper Union, SVA, Hunter College, FIT, and Laguardia Community College, all of which are invited again to submit their work.
The open call is for all media, open to students of all levels, and the submission form can be accessed at www.photofeast.org the deadline for submissions is May 3rd.
If students wish to participate in Feast Week, but not necessarily submit work to be curated, there are more open events inviting all students to bring work for pin-up or trade (zine trade, pin-up show/print trade).
